  • I tried finding a review where an approximate step count is mentioned because I was really trying to keep it an easy hike especially after a strenuous one earlier in the day. I couldn't find one and so counted it myself today. Depending on what you count as a "step": - Steps to upper viewing deck: 22 - Additional steps to lower viewing deck: 61 They are a bit muddy but I wouldn't say exactly slippery. Hope this is helpful for someone looking for this info!
  • Beautiful place without a really long hike. The short hike there isn't bad at all, the terrain is level and the trails are cut out very well. There's some steps too and a couple different views of the falls plus it's close to other cool spots on the parkway like the Jumping off Rock. Great place to take a quick nature hike, get some great pics, have a picnic, etc I'd spent the day in Boone shopping on King St and stopped by the parkway on my way home for the short hike and beautiful views. It's not far from Boone or Wilkesboro and once you're on the parkway from 421 it's just a hop skip and a jump away
  • Absolutely breathtaking. Definitely a place to visit. Good family location but hiking shoes a must!!! The incline down to the falls is a little steep and mucky so be careful!! Otherwise it was a beautiful experience and great little trail to walk on.
  • Beautiful, short hike, but quite a few stairs, so may not be suitable for everyone. Bathrooms available at trail head, as well a picnic tables. Google took us past the overlook turn off, so be aware it's called E.B.Jefferies park.
  • Very enjoyable and easy hike to get to the waterfall. Many steps and landings to view.
