This was a pretty neat little stop. The museum is by donation. It had some cool stuffed animals for the kids to look at. The gift shop was nice, without having to go into downtown Traverse.

Roadside tourist trap with a large array of taxidermy and indigenous artifacts displayed in a very artful manner. No ticket required although donations very much appreciated. Public restrooms available, but I'd say pop a nice donation in if you're just stopping to use the bathroom! Lots of knickknacks for souvenir purchases.

While visiting family, this was a side trip to fill some time with. Great little place to visit with so much to look at on display. Alot of time and effort to put together but much appreciated. One of a kind place to visit!

Great little shop and the museum was cool. The kids loved the taxidermy! The woman running the shop was really nice, even to my crazy 4 year old who had been in the car too long and wanted to touch everything!

I first visited Guntzviller's about 7 years ago with my family. We weren't sure what to expect from a taxidermy museum and went in with an open mind. We walked into the big room with the museum displays, and every corner we turned presented with another piece that blew our minds! It's not a huge area but every nook and cranny is packed with interesting information and beautiful animals! It's clear that the place was put together with love and care. The scenes are detailed and informative. I recently took another visit to the museum by myself when I was in Traverse City for a work conference. It was just as magical as I remembered! I especially appreciate the staff at Guntzviller's. They leave you to explore the museum on your own with no pressure or awkwardness but if you do have a question, they are right there to help. If you find yourself in the Traverse City area, do not miss this unique opportunity to visit Guntzviller's marvelous collection!

This is honestly one of my favorite places I have ever travelled to. The museum is a labor of love, and it shows. Some amazing Michigan and outdoor history there. It is a must see for anyone who loves the outdoors and would be great for kids as well. Entry is free (donation based) but the experience is worth so much! The owners were very friendly and spoke with us for a long time. This place is somewhere we will come back to again and again. The gift shop is very nice as well.
