My daughter decided she wanted to get married at Squire's Castle, so we made the four-hour trip to Ohio for her wedding. It was so beautiful with the castle as the backdrop.

The castle is open to walk through and has some plaques with the history of the castle. It is a wonderful hiking spot there are many different trails to take with over 20 miles of marked trails, ranging from half a mile to 10 miles. The majority of the trails are natural but I had no problem pushing a stroller through them.

Lots of good bridges. Trails are marked okay not great but not awful. They all intersect a lot which can make it hard to figure out without a map. That and the fact that as soon as you get on the trail it says not to go off trail but there are all the narrower trails that could be designated outlooks that you don't really know if you're allowed to be on or not, so if they don't want you on them they need to block them off or put up off trail signs to let you know. BRING BUG SPRAY AND LOTS OF WATER. At first I thought it was just a one mile quick trail but since all the trails intersect each other I ended up going on a 10+ mile excursion without even having to get in my car to go to other trail heads. That could be a good or bad thing depending on who you are. This place and the trails are VERY DOG FRIENDLY which is a huge plus to me. The castle was pretty on the outside but kind of underwhelming on the inside. Lots of kids and dogs close to the castle, but after a mile onto the trail we lost most of them which is a good thing for me. Super easy trails, I wouldn't call it hiking I would call it walking but there are a few uphill sections. Still good exercise. Lots of parking which is awesome. Overall a great experience!

I took my bike out for a random ride and ended up passing here. I heard about this place but I never been it's so much more beautiful in person!! There are picnic tables but no pavilions from what I saw. Everyone there was enjoying themselves, taking pictures, laughing and running around! It was a nice visit on a Sunday!!
-
Ample parking and restroom outside building. There are trails around and next to the Castle. The Castle is empty and many plaques to explain the history of this Castle. This is a nice quick spot to visit.

Great story of the family that owned the castle/gate, beautiful structure, beautiful park (woods and trails), perfect setting for photos (graduation, weddings, family photos, cosplay). All seasons, it would be beautiful. Picnic areas available near it as well.
