See the site of the Revolutionary War's last major battle, Yorktown Battlefield. Here the American and French troops secured the independence of the United States from the British in 1781. Begin at the visitor center, where you can watch a short video introduction and admire artifacts found on the battlefield, including tents used by Gen. George Washington's army. Maps available at the reception desk give instructions for self-guided driving tours. If you'd prefer to explore on foot with a guide, take a ranger-led walking tour. The guided tour also includes a stop in the Historic Jamestowne. A small per-person fee is charged at the reception desk. As a NP passport user, this was another location for a stamp! The video was very good, and the exhibits were well done! As always the visitor centers are very well maintained!

Cool stop. Lots of history. We had about 2 hours and it was not enough. We saw the video and did a ranger walk. We made the mistake of going into the village from there when we should have checked...

So in love with Yorktown. My meditation spot. The atmosphere is surreal. Rich in history. Absolutely stunning views. What's not to love? (H💚ME) Photo's are of Yorktown National Cemetery / Battlefield. My daughter and I walked the battlefield and had a memorable day.

The visitor center provides a great introduction to the battle/siege of Yorktown. Then, the driving tour provides a good exposure to what the battlefield probably looked like. Redoubt 9/10 is the best stop, but I'd recommend doing the driving tour stopping at the second siege line, Redoubt 9/10, the Moore House, and surrender field at a minimum. Make sure you pick up the park brochure to compliment the specific driving tour signs to help you navigate to the stops.

Small visitor center. Has public bathrooms, trolley stop, parking and you can buy Yorktown Battlefield tickets there. Kids 15 & under and Former/Current military are free. Seniors are discounted. Everyone else is $15. Small museum at visitors center. Cannot buy multi-attraction tickets here.

The visitor center and battlefield are amazing to see from a historical perspective but as attractions go, it was lacking. The flow of the building itself distracted from what the theme of the visitor center was trying to establish. I'd love to see more focused exhibits help transition visitors through smoother. Still a great visit if you are even remotely interested in history.

Love the exhibit and the tour. Follow the red signs then yellow signs. When you get to the fork between Moore house and surrender field, go to the left to Moore house first. There are plenty of signs along the route so drive slowly.
