Bridalveil Fall, Yosemite National Park

Bridalveil fall is the first water fall you will see in Yosemite National park. The water depends on the season. Unfortunately, it was a little big drought when we visited there this summer. However, it’s still worth visiting.

One of the most famous waterfalls in Yosemite valley, bridal veil fall is about 600 feet high and flows year around. It is usually the first waterfall that most visitors encounter after arriving at the valley. In a strong wind, the falling water is often blown sideways, and when the flow is weak, it may not reach the ground directly below. That is why native americans called the waterfall Pohono: Spirit of the puffing wind. To reach the bottom of the fall, you need to take the 1.2 mile round trip. The best time to visit the fall is the spring. The snowmelt roars over the falls and it fell like taking a shower under a tornado. There is a large park lot by the south drive, you can also park along the road. The park lot also has a grand view of El Capitan on the other side of the road. During the winter time, the rocks near the bottom of fall are very icy and slippery and you can fall easily, be aware. There is no clean restroom near the parking lot. The closest one is in the Yosemite Village. Due to the Rehabilitation Project, the Bridal veil fall area are closed between 2019 and 2022

****YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK~~CALIFORNIA **** Spectacular Waterfall! I loved everything about Yosemite National Park located in Mariposa county, Northern California. It was a trip worth waiting for. It is the Grand Valley since 1864 and an icon of America’s National Parks. PS… We did not see Yosemite Sam!!

A must go for all tourists and locals alike when visiting Yosemite park. This is on of the most famous spot to visit. Parking there can get crowded but a quick wait will suffice. You’ll have to walk a a slope first before reaching a landing with lots of rocks. Be careful as the rocks are pretty sharp and small plus slippery from the mist above. Nevertheless, it’s a beautiful and fresh sight!
