Create an itinerary including Yosemite Falls
With three separate drops measuring 739 m (2,425 ft) in total, Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall in North America and ranks among the top ten in the world. It can be seen from many places throughout the Yosemite Valley, but you can also hike to the base and the top of the waterfall. An easy hike to the base is wheelchair accessible and rewards you with a stunning view of the upper drop. Just be careful of the slippery ground and don’t be surprised if you get sprayed by the water. The trail to the top offers breathtaking views of the valley, but you should consider it only if you’re a serious hiker. Make Yosemite Falls a centerpiece of your Yosemite National Park vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Yosemite National Park trip planner.

  • We didn't do the hike having done Vernal and Nevada Falls. From the valley floor and in the fall season, there is nothing more than evidence of there being a waterfall. I imagine in the spring...

  • Yosemite Falls was dry in late October, but it was definitely enormous. I am glad that I got to see this area. There were many parking lots, but they filled up rapidly.

  • This hike is fairly difficult with the elevation gain but the views are definitely worth it! Definitely recommend starting early cause the parking lots will definitely fill up even with the reservation system in place. Bring plenty of water and take some lunch to enjoy on the top of the falls overlook. Great trail for the solo traveler/photographer!
  • It's not easy hiking to the top of the waterfall (upper falls). Very challenging... Especially when we are out of shape. Me and my girlfriend would constantly take breaks. Hills were really steep, and some climbing as well. As soon as we reached to the top, it was worth it! I immediately jumped in the river to refresh myself. The river was nice and cold and the view from the top was beautiful. Going down was the easiest part. If a chubby guy like me can do it, so can you. Just take your time and don't rush it.
  • Fantastic get away from city life. The falls and the park has so much to offer. A walk through the giant sequois makes a man feel so small compared to the trees. It's a wonderful trip to spend some time with nature.
  • Brave yourself for the climb with camping gear for two nights and you will be rewarded. In late June the pools are calm and safe if you go 200 yards up creek. Just amazing views for the entire trip.
  • This is one of the most beautiful trails in the park. My daughters Jazzy n Belle had an awesome time at Columbia Rock and on the overlook by the waterfall. It's a difficult hike but it's all worth it! To experience nature in our beautiful California...
