If you're willing to challenge yourself to walk up narrow paths and climb steep ridges at Zion National Park, you can reach Angel's Landing and be rewarded with a majestic view. The trail is considered extremely demanding--especially the final stage. The early part of the hike features plenty of pleasant photo opportunities. As the trail begins to get steeper, any crowds will thin out because most people turn back. Reaching the summit can be dangerous--especially so when wet or icy. It requires scaling some serious heights and using chains anchored in the rocks, so it's not for everyone. This final part of the climb is not intended for children. Absolutely gorgeous! A strenuous hike that's worth it when you get to the top! It was a bit icy and dicy so only got as far as the 3rd set of chains but still amazing!

AWESOME hike! I was lucky to get a permit and hike Angel's landing, it was an amazing experience. Would love to do this again! The views are breathtaking!

Here's why this is the ideal hike. Much of this hike is paved with many switchbacks and beautiful views the entire way. The view at the top, before the chains is spectacular. So if you don't win a lotto spot for the chains, this portion is definitely worth the hike. The chains portion was was fun and the additional views are certainly worth it, but honestly, the chains portion is more about the adventure than the views.

Gorgeous views but quite challenging trail especially in the hot summer months. I do recommend starting the hike as early in the day as possible because there is very little shade after ~9am. You do need a reservation to hike angels landing and they did check the tickets when I was there, especially in the morning hours. Did not have a need to use gloves for the chain part. Make sure you pack enough water and good luck! Also, even if you don't make it to the top stopping halfway or 3/4 through is still absolutely worth it.

Such a beautiful hike. It is strenuous but with the views. Much of the path is paved so easy to walk on. Must register ahead of time if you want to be able to hike to the top portion of Angels landing where the trails are more narrow and they have chain to help you pull yourself up.
