Zion Canyon Scenic Drive features dramatic vistas and an array of hiking trails. See enormous sandstone cliffs, meandering rivers, wildlife, and red and green vastness. Stop at the visitor center and view exhibits before taking the drive, and see the ranger presentations at the Zion Human History Museum. Be aware that the road is open year-round, but private vehicles are allowed only seasonally; organized shuttle buses run the route the rest of the year. By going in the winter we were able to drive ourselves and stop when we wanted and leave when we wanted. Easy drive and no scary spots.
