Create an itinerary including Blue Lagoon
Cool off at Blue Lagoon, a lagoon with surreal beauty due to its clear, incredibly blue waters. Take snorkeling gear and follow the tropical fish, or grab onto the rope swings and swing across the water. Pack your lunch and eat at the picnic area here. Facities are very basic here--you'll find toilets on site, but be prepared by taking your own toilet paper. Make Blue Lagoon a part of your Port Vila vacation plans using our Port Vila travel route planner.

  • we did a lot of diving. there are two ropes on two sides where you get caught like Tarzan and dive. hot water. it was crowded when we visited. you must have towels with you because they are not organized to be given to you by someone. from the opposite side with the rope you jump from higher. we had an amazing time and took some awesome personal photos
  • Stunning water to swim in! Rope swings were heaps of fun too. Definitely worth the drive out. Recommend taking reef shoes to wear and towels
  • Amazing. I went here just passing by and had to come again to stay and swim and chill. Soooo serene. They have ropes for you to swing into the water and jump in, places to BBQ and have a picnic. Really a place to just be. The people managing the place are so lovely 😍
  • even on a rainy day, it was stunning. I enjoyed the blue waters, climbed a tree, and swung from the rope swing. also walked to the ocean through a little side path. you can get out there for really cheap by buses (
  • Here is your owner of the south side of Blue Lagoon, Karl, who at 45 years of age, provides the entertainment and assistance to his audience! Working almost 7 days a week, he’ll make sure you get the best swing possible. Make sure to bring 1500VT for entry. The water is connected with the ocean as you swim down the lagoon more (refer to Google Maps). The further you head to the ocean, the clarity begins to mix in with the fresh water within the lagoon. Beware that there is a small current that flows towards the ocean. Karl was so helpful in waving down a bus for us when all of the buses left and decided to keep my wife and I company; this is not something I would receive back in Australia. TLDR: Worth the visit. Bluest water I’ve ever seen. Be sure to ask for Karl who is a legend. 1500VT entry cost (2022 updated cost). Be careful of a small-flow current towards the end of the lagoon.
