Housed in a restored traditional timber pavilion, the museum houses a collection of pottery dating from the 7th to the 18th century. Ties with China, India, Thailand, the Philippines and Japan are well documented and model boats and maps explain the trading routes and influences. Early Chinese pottery from Tang period, a great collection of Vietnamese 15th ceramics as well as items rescued from a 1733 ship wreckage are here accompanied by 8th century pieces from the Middle East.   • The house itself is the most interesting part of the museum, lovely old woodwork. The ceramics were interesting but limited.

  • Make sure you get a ticket book from the Ticket office to visit slected Museums ( or else where if they sell them). Not that impressed compared to a number of other museums , but you make your own...

  • The Museum of Trade Ceramics was an interesting attraction, but not to be outdone was the ancient house that housed the exhibits, as it was just as interesting as the exhibits.
