8. Old Beechworth Gaol, Beechworth

Visit Old Beechworth Gaol to see the prison that once housed the infamous Ned Kelly and his gang. This former prison, which was the site of eight convict executions, now runs daily tours and hosts special events. You can choose from four different walking tours, accompanied by costumed prison guards/guides who will take you deep into the site's hidden areas, like the autopsy tent, the gallows, and solitary confinement cells.
