Best things to do in Morro de Sao Paulo

One of a small grouping of beaches, Terceira Praia is an ideal spot for taking a break on your walk down along the beachfront. Drinks and snacks are less expensive on Terceira Praia then some of the other nearby beaches, so your wallet will be as happy as you are sitting in the sunshine. Enjoy the view over the clear waters as you sip a cocktail, this is a true live-in-the-moment beach that isn't far from the comforts of civilization.

Farol do Morro, or “Lighthouse Hill,” is the a personal paradise created by Antonio and Rosita Couto. So stunned by the view and the location, the couple decided to share their newfound paradise with other travelers opening a hotel on the magical site in 1986. Nowadays, guests of the hotel and visitors frequent the restaurant for the pristine views accessible from one of the busiest walking streets in Morro de São Paulo. Arrive in the afternoon, before the dinner rush, to grab a table overlooking the water.

Primeira Praia abounds with bodies in the day and bumps with music at night. Restaurants line the beach ready to serve you up some colorful, umbrella toting cocktails and hearty snacks. Umbrellas shading the visitors and fill the sands, so come early to get a good spot near the water. This is a prime locale for the social butterfly to party day and night next to the ocean. 

Calm waters, white sands, and coconut trees make Cueira Beach the picture-perfect scene you only see on postcards. The slow, rolling waves make for a relaxed atmosphere perfect for sunbathing, strolling, swimming, and even horseback riding. Be sure to have the grilled mini-lobtser at Guido’s, the only restaurant on the beach.

Although the Ruinas da Fortaleza do Tapirandu is a historical point of interest, many people come for something unrelated to its history. It's location is elevated along the coastline facing east making an inspiring spot for watching the sunrise and a romantic place for watching the sunset. You may even see dolphins putting on a show for you just below the fortress walls.
