See Chrysorrogiatissa Monastery with its own winery, featuring vividly colored orthodox frescoes and collections of priceless relics and icons. According to legend, a local monk came across a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary painted by Luke the Evangelist that was washed out to sea; he collected it and dedicated this monastery to the icon in 1152. The present building, which dates to 1770, hosts an important Cypriot religious ceremony and holds fine vintage wine. View a gold- and silver-plated icon of the Virgin Mary at the gallery, and browse through Byzantine and post-Byzantine collections. You'll also find a rustic cafe on site.

Nestled among gentle hills and green areas, Minthis Golf Club hosts 18-hole championship golfing. At an elevation of 560 m (1,840 ft), the site offers a cooler climate than its surroundings. You'll see two lakes and tidy subtropical vegetation as well as 35 bunkers at the course. Expect to encounter a number of concealed obstacles and tricky challenges during the game. Donald Steel, a former English golfer and prominent golf course designer (and author), created this course.

Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, was rumored to have taken baths at Baths of Aphrodite, a crystal-clear pond nestled in a subtropical oasis. When Adonis saw her one day by accident, he immediately fell in love; and the feelings were mutual. Adorning the final point of a small nature trail in Akamas National Park, the baths serve as a famous photography spot and a cool shaded resting area.

The tradition of wine production in the Paphos region dates far back through history, as archaeological evidence shows in the Roman mosaics of Kato Paphos where, in the house of Dionysos, Bacchus is depicted with a bunch of grapes in one hand and a wine goblet in the other. Sterna Winery has been producing wine for many generations and is situated above ancient springs and 31 caves dating back over 3000 years, one of which is used to lay down our wine.

The darkness of the cave cellar, together with isothermic conditions (15-16'C) maintained all year round, create the ideal conditions for ageing our fine wines.
