As Scandinavia's largest inland city, Tampere boasts all sorts of options when it comes to accommodations. Most of the city's modern hotels are clustered in the cosmopolitan area surrounding the main train station, within walking distance of many of the city's popular bars, shops, and restaurants. While they may lack character, the hotels themselves are reasonably priced for a large city. For more a more cost-effective option, opt for a smaller hotel or bed and breakfast in one of the quieter suburbs. To more closely experience Finland's natural wonders, check out the campsites just outside of town, which are significantly cheaper but with fewer amenities.
