Top 15 things to do in Sanremo

1. Pista Ciclabile Area 24 - Sanremo

Zip along Liguria's Riviera at Pista Ciclabile Area 24 - Sanremo, 24 km (15 mi) of cycling paths between San Lorenzo and Ospedaletti. The primarily flat path is ideal for all ages and levels of biking experience. You also can explore the repurposed railway line on foot using designated pedestrian lanes. You'll pass through five distinct sections along the coast. Marvel at sweeping views of the Mediterranean as you pop in and out of former train tunnels and stations. Coast through quiet seaside villages dotted with cafes and bars. Rent a bike in nearby towns or along the path.

2. Old Bussana (Bussana Vecchia)

A former ghost town, Old Bussana (Bussana Vecchia) has hosted an artist community since the early 1960s. The 1887 earthquake that caused the abandonment was the first recorded by a true seismograph. The hippies who moved in 70 years later have been served ineffective eviction orders on more than one occasion. The list of current artists names more than 20. Plan your route to arrival carefully as it can be difficult to find. If you don’t have a car, be aware of the 3 km (1.9 mi) uphill hike. You may find that here there is little distinction between a for-pay restaurant and an invitation to dine in someone’s home, which perhaps has a donation box hanging on the door.

10. La Pigna

La Pigna refers to the old town of Sanremo along the Italian Riviera. Built in the early Middle Ages, the walled village later expanded into the surrounding hillside. Today, the remaining old town is almost perfectly preserved. A labyrinth of paths and narrow streets weaves through old buildings and monuments, eventually leading to a cathedral perched atop a hill. The views from here are not to be missed. This quaint, historic part of Sanremo contrasts starkly with the busy areas closer to the sea.

15. Small Group E-bike Tour in the Ligurian Riviera with Lunch

FROM $110
After passing the magnificent sandy beaches of the Tre Ponti, a gentle climb begins towards the famous Poggio della Milano-Sanremo. A short break in the pine forest of the Sanctuary of the Guard for a first suggestive shot of the Gulf of Sanremo and on the road towards Ceriana. A very well-kept village, set in the mountains with 22 churches and a culinary tradition of the highest level. Once in the pedestrian heart of the village, a tasty tasting of typical dishes awaits us. A nice tour of the town, seeing corners and peculiarities, lead us to the "beach" of the town and to the mill area where time seems to have stopped. A few more photos of the most characteristic corners and take the bridge over the stream that leads to the dirt road. The road continues among the smells of the olive trees in a continuous up and down with breaks, where blackberries, figs, strawberry trees and other spontaneous fruits will give flavor to the breaks along the way. Once you leave the route, the road is all downhill to Bussana and the cycle path.
