If you want something more budget-friendly, this youthful city has hostels, bed and breakfasts, and guesthouses, within the old city or close by. To experience both the city and the natural surroundings of Kaunas, opt to stay at one of the campsites, easily accessible from town via bus and offering tents or campers to rent at very reasonable rates. Be sure to book ahead when traveling to Kaunas: the city gets quite busy in the summer months, and the lack of big hotels means the small ones fill up fast.
