Here you and you will be guided around a collection of stunning colorful geothermal features such as the Champagne pool and the Devil's Bath. Following Wai O Tapu our journey will guide you to the Lady Knox geyser, who is very punctual and only goes once a day. At the conclusion of the geyser eruption, our journey leads you to Waimangu Valley, the youngest geothermal ecosystem in the world. *Please note that due to staff shortages, Wai o tapu is closed Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As an alternative option, Elite adventures will substitute Wai O tapu for the beautiful lake Rotomahana boat cruise at Waimangu. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Rotorua has a range of different accommodations, mainly centered around the lake itself. In this downtown area you will find luxury hotels and hostels, many benefitting from good views of the surrounding scenery. Farther out of the town, comfortable motels offer those with a car a good option for setting up a base from which to explore the area. Campers and others wanting to enjoy the outdoors as soon as possible can opt for campsites and RV parks, all best accessed by car or taxi.
