Venture beneath the earth to see one of the world’s largest subterranean lakes at Cuevas del Drach. The four caves sit 25 m (82 ft) underground and stretch 2.4 km (1.5 mi). Take a guided tour through the caves, which includes a boat ride across Martel Lake and ends with a four-piece live classical concert. Famed architect Antoni Gaudí participated in a renovation project at the beginning of the 20th century. Famous for its cozy alfresco restaurants, this old quarter is best explored on foot because of its narrow streets and limited parking. Pedestrianized and always packed by tourists, the neighborhood is home to a twice-weekly market and myriad tiny bistros known for serving a wide range of tempting local delicacies. Visit the remains of a Roman town just outside the old wall, and be sure to stop by the Church of Saint Jaume, a minor Gothic masterpiece.

The beach stretches for 14 km (8.6 mi), so there is plenty of space to find your perfect spot, or you can explore the coves along the way. The water is also swimming with exotic fish, so bring your snorkeling gear.

Lounge and swim at Platja de ses Salines. This long stretch of sand offers clear water and great people watching, as it can sometimes be quite crowded. Umbrellas and lounge chairs are available for rent, though it’s much cheaper to simply lay out a towel. Don’t miss the walkway leading over the water, where you can admire the fish and plants in their natural habitat. Snacks and drinks are available from the vendors and small shops. For something more filling, walk just off the beach to one of the many restaurants.

Get lost in the dozens of interactive game rooms at Katmandu Park, which features an upside-down house full of exciting attractions, including a haunted asylum, 4D movies, and a large mini-golf course. Step into the Wild West and practice your shooting on a simulated ride, or discover the undersea wonders of the interactive aquarium. Pack a picnic or have lunch at one of the park’s restaurants.

Enjoy the outdoor scenery at Serra de Tramuntana, a limestone mountain range filled with peaks and caves that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take along water and hiking boots to explore the mountains, and be sure to buy a guidebook that illustrates the trails. It’s best to visit the area by car, so if you haven’t rented one, consider hiring a driver or taking a bus. Ask your driver to stop at the spots with good photo opportunities.
