See plant species from all over the world originally grown from cuttings that arrived at Bodnant Garden more than a century ago. The world-famous garden here--which was developed around Bodnant House starting in 1874--provides spectacular views across Snowdonia National Park. This 32 hectare (80 acre) garden is split into two parts: the upper level surrounds the house and features Italianate terraces, specimen trees, and manicured lawns, with paths that take you to the lower level. Referred to as The Dell, the lower level is home to a wooded valley, wild garden, old mill, and even an enchanting spillway waterfall into the River Hiraethlyn. Enjoy fresh, local dishes at the Pavillion Tea Room, ice cream at The Kiosk, or home-baked scones and cakes at the Magnolia Tea Room.

With a bend toward conservation, Welsh Mountain Zoo houses many endangered species, such as snow leopards, Sumatran tigers, and Andean condors. A wide range of other mammals, birds, and reptiles also make their home in the park. Explore the Media Centre, which is filled with educational games for children, and watch some of the featured animal shows that are available throughout the day. While the animals live with ample space (15 hectares or 37 acres), the design of the park makes it easy for you to get up close. Its hilltop location makes the surrounding environment part of the experience. Because of the hilly terrain, wheelchair accessibility is limited.
