Learn about the life of marine giants at The Whale Museum. The museum's collection, spread over two floors, focuses on the whales and marine life of the Pacific Northwest. You can learn about local whale pods and natural history of the area, as well as see the lifelike models, artifacts, and whale skeletons. The exhibits and multimedia presentations familiarize visitors with recent discoveries in marine biology and raise awareness of the efforts to protect the marine ecosystems. At the museum's gift shop, you can find an array of whale-inspired memorabilia and artwork, such as shirts, books, posters, and jewelry.

Lime Kiln Point State Park is a 36-acre Washington state park on the western shore of San Juan Island in the San Juan archipelago. The park is considered one of the best places in the world to view wild orcas from a land-based facility. Due to the unique bathymetric properties of the site, visitors on the shore can be within 20 feet of whales jumping out of the water (breaching and spyhopping). The park was the site of lime kilns beginning in 1860, and one kiln has been restored as a public exhibit.
The park provides opportunities for picnicking, hiking, beachcombing, orca watching, and tours of the still operational Lime Kiln Light. An interpretive center has displays and activities about orcas and the area's former lime kiln industry.
The park is supported in part by the Friends of Lime Kiln. Volunteers and marine naturalists are often onsite to assist and educate visitors.

Orcas Island Pottery is a favorite destination for visitors to Orcas Island. The oldest pottery in the Pacific Northwest, it is located on West Beach only 3½ miles from Eastsound, in an area of old growth cedars and Douglas fir, on a 100 foot high bluff overlooking President’s Channel.

When you turn off the main road onto the long driveway into the woods, you feel like you are entering a fairyland. As you arrive at the O.I.P. parking lot you will notice a sign for the ‘Foot Path’ that leads you down into the yard. There you will follow the pathways to discover this magical place with its beautiful gardens, fountains and, of course, lovely pottery. It’s a whimsical adventure.
