Hagatna

3.3
Flea Markets · Beaches · Parks
The second smallest settlement on the island, Agana is the capital of Guam and the seat of its government. The village's Catholic past remains visible in its cathedral and Spanish plaza, although today most people take a trip to Agana for the shopping options. The village functions largely for political and administrative purposes, so you'll find little in the way of tourist amenities and activities. Plan your vacation with our Guam trip itinerary app and discover the best things to do in Hagatna.

Our expert advice on where to stay in Hagatna

Although it's an administrative capital, Agana offers only limited accommodation options. You can either stay in a spa hotel overlooking the cathedral, or head a few minutes away from the beach and up the nearby hill. There, you can choose from a small selection of private apartments and condos offering views down over the water. If you're looking for beachfront rooms, look east to the neighboring village of Tamuning.
