Nestled in a narrow strip of land between the sea and the glacier, Hof remains best known for its 1883 turf church--the last of its kind to be built in the old Icelandic style of architecture. The picturesque church, which is part of the National Museum of Iceland, is most beautiful in July when the turf is the greenest.
