As the region's biggest city and one of the country's national hot spots for nightlife, vacations, and the great outdoors, Faro features a huge array of hotels, guesthouses, and hostels. Most of the larger international chains sit within the blocks surrounding the city harbor, and although staying in one can be pricey, it puts you within easy walking distance of the city's selection of bars, restaurants, clubs, and other establishments. For more budget-friendly accommodations check out a family-run inn, a bed and breakfast, or the opportunity to simply rent an extra room from a local--all of which are extremely common in Faro. These accommodations may be a little farther outside the city center, but you'll get a quiet nook in a nearby residential neighborhood away from the city bustle.
