    In spite of threats of violence against Christians and NGO workers made in 2011, Hargeisa has remained one of the safest places in Somalia. Choose from hotels (expect facilities far below Western standards), along with several hostels and bed and breakfasts. Couples need to show a marriage certificate to share a room in some of the more luxurious establishments. Whenever you leave a city you are required to take a government security person with you.
