Marmaris

Marinas · Nightlife · Beaches
One of Turkey's major port towns and tourist resorts, Marmaris sits on the stretch of the Mediterranean coastline popularly known as the "Turkish Riviera." Nestled between verdant mountain ranges and the sea, Marmaris draws sailors and divers from around the globe, its marinas packed with private yachts and tour boats. In addition to sandy beaches and warm waters, the city offers a diverse restaurant scene, plenty of shopping opportunities, and a thriving nightlife known for outdoor dance venues. The town also makes a convenient base camp for day trips into the surrounding area, which is rife with ancient ruins and sleepy villages offering easy access to secluded beaches and coves. Where to stay in Marmaris

Look no further than the seaside town of Marmaris for an oceanfront getaway. Along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea sits a strip of busy hotels that appeal to the masses. Here you'll find all-inclusive hotels, guesthouses, and bed and breakfasts right next to shopping, dining, and nightlife venues. In this area, the better accommodation deals tend to restrict outside food and beverages, which can drive up your tab with restaurant bills and à la carte purchases. Farther from the coast in the Armutalan area, you'll find more laid-back accommodations, including moderately priced hotels. The noise restrictions in place ensure a more peaceful stay compared to the city center. Farther south along the coast, the Içmeler area offers the best of both worlds--while still oceanfront, the resorts here are quiet, thanks to their distance from the bustling city. Keep in mind that Içmeler is little over an hour's walk from the city, or a short water taxi ride.
