Where to stay in Bergen for first-time tourists

As a major Norwegian city, Bergen offers accommodations--and just about everything else--at a high price. Try to stay in the picturesque Bryggen wharf area near the fish market, or in the city center. If you’re looking for lively nightlife, check out rooms close to the city’s university. To find less-expensive lodging, search for hostels in the city center and campsites just out of town. Alternatively, live like a local by staying in a small guesthouse.
