Where to stay in Haleakala National Park for first-time tourists

Haleakala National Park offers most of its accommodations in the form of wilderness cabins. Three are scattered throughout the park, and these require at least a couple hours of hiking to reach. Each cabin provides a wood-burning stove and pit toilet, but you'll have to boil water from nearby water sources before drinking it. The park also provides a couple of campgrounds. Most visitors to the park arrive from wherever they've chosen to stay on Maui.
