Capitol Reef National Park — 1 day

Capitol Reef National Park takes its name from a particularly rugged and scenic section of the Waterpocket Fold, a geologic "wrinkle" stretching for 160 km (100 mi) along a dry plateau surrounded by white Navajo sandstone cliffs and domes, and red canyons, buttes, and rock bridges.
Kick off your visit on the 1st (Fri): admire the striking features of Fruita Schoolhouse, tour the pleasant surroundings at The Hickman Bridge Trail, then make a trip to Fremont Petroglyphs, and finally hike along Goosenecks Overlook.
