Barcelona, the country’s second-largest city, is a cosmopolitan urban center known for its throbbing youthful energy and stellar architecture.

Get a sense of the local culture at Basilica de la Sagrada Familia and Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic). Head to La Boqueria and Passeig de Graciafor some retail therapy. Get out of town with these interesting Barcelona side-trips: Museu de la Mediterrania (in Torroella de Montgri), Zipline (in Platja d'Aro) and Playas de Calella (in Calella de Palafrugell). There's lots more to do: explore the world behind art at Museu Picasso, surround yourself with nature on Girona Explorers, get outside with Aqua & Sports, and stroll through Great Beach.
