Tel Aviv, Israel to Hualien is an approximately 20-hour combination of flight and train. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of flight, bus, and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 6 hours traveling from Tel Aviv to Hualien. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Mon) so you can catch the train to Taipei.

You can take a train from Hualien to Taipei in 3.5 hours. Another option is to drive. December in Taipei sees daily highs of 23°C and lows of 18°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Wed) early enough to travel to Alishan.

Start off your visit on the 5th (Thu): take in the pleasant sights at Alishan Shenmu Area, take a peaceful walk through Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, then head outdoors with Mihu Trail, then trek along Alishan Giant Trees Park Trail, and finally hike along Tashan Trail.
