Traveling from Mumbai in January, expect nights in Kigali to be about the same, around 19°C, while days are slightly colder, around 32°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Sun) early enough to drive to Ruhengeri.

Most tourism in Ruhengeri revolves around the famous national park, which shelters mountain gorillas of the volcanic Virunga range.

Traveling by car from Ruhengeri to Kibuye takes 3 hours. Traveling from Ruhengeri in January, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 20°C in Kibuye. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Wed) to allow time to drive to Butare.

Butare is a city in the Southern Province of Rwanda and capital of Huye district. Start off your visit on the 26th (Thu): explore the striking landscape of Nyungwe National Park.
