Traveling by car from Kathmandu to Janakpur takes 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and flight; or drive; or take a bus. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 10th (Tue) to allow time for the flight to Chitwan National Park.

Getting from Janakpur to Chitwan National Park by flight takes about 4.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus. In May, plan for daily highs up to 41°C, and evening lows to 28°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Wed) so you can fly to Pokhara.

Pokhara, the second largest city in the country, attracts visitors with its superlative natural wonders and easygoing atmosphere.

Prepare for a bit cooler weather when traveling from Chitwan National Park in May: high temperatures in Pokhara hover around 35°C and lows are around 22°C.
