Step out of Lake George with an excursion to Gore Mountain in North Creek--about 32 minutes away. There's still lots to do: explore the activities along Lake George, see the interesting displays at Patriot of Lake George Museum, make a splash at Six Flags Great Escape & Hurricane Harbor, and brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Lake George Distilling Company.

You can drive from Lake Placid to Lake George in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In March, Lake George is somewhat warmer than Lake Placid - with highs of 40°F and lows of 20°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 24th (Fri) so you can go by car back home.
