Reykjavik, the world's most northerly capital, effortlessly combines small-town charm with heaps of big city energy.
Attractions like Hallgrimskirkja and National Museum of Iceland make great kid-friendly stops. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Reykjavik: Blue Lagoon (in Grindavik) and Thingvellir National Park (in Thingvellir). There's still lots to do: savor the flavors at Food & Drink, take a stroll through Laugavegur, tour the pleasant surroundings at Aurora Basecamp, and steep yourself in history at Landnámssýningin/The Settlement Exhibition.

Chandigarh, India to Reykjavik is an approximately 19-hour flight. The time zone difference when traveling from Chandigarh to Reykjavik is minus 5.5 hours. Iceland's southernmost village, Vik, sports some of the country's wildest and most dramatic coastline.
Start off your visit on the 15th (Wed): stroll through Reynisfjara Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Black Sand Beach, then take in the dramatic natural features at Dyrhólaey, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Reyniskirkja Church. Keep things going the next day: explore the striking landscape at Sólheimajökulll, take in the dramatic scenery at Skogafoss, and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Reynisfjall.

Traveling by car from Reykjavik to Vik takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Plan for somewhat warmer nights when traveling from Reykjavik in February since evenings lows in Vik dip to 1°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Svinafell.
