12 days in Byron Bay, Gold Coast & Port Douglas Itinerary

Tomerong to Byron Bay is an approximately 7.5-hour combination of car and flight. You can also drive. In April, plan for daily highs up to 30°C, and evening lows to 16°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Sun) so you can drive to Gold Coast.

Kids will appreciate attractions like Sea World Theme Park and Dreamworld. Venture out of the city with trips to Brisbane (The Brisbane River & Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary). Next up on the itinerary: get in on the family fun at Warner Bros. Movie World, kick back and relax at Surfers Paradise Beach, have some family-friendly fun at Infinity, and take an unforgettable tour with a helicopter tour.

Traveling by car from Byron Bay to Gold Coast takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In April, daily temperatures in Gold Coast can reach 30°C, while at night they dip to 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Wed) to allow time to fly to Port Douglas.
