Once Jamaica's hidden gem, Negril has significantly expanded its infrastructure without losing its casual way of life.

Prepare for much hotter weather when traveling from Chicago in December: high temperatures in Negril hover around 87°F and lows are around 74°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Montego Bay.

The second largest city in Jamaica, Montego Bay boasts an international airport and a major cruise-line terminal, so it regularly receives a big influx of visitors to the island.

Step out of the city life by going to Doctor's Cave Beach and Nature & Wildlife Tours. Family-friendly places like Treasure Beach and Rocklands Bird Sanctuary ( Montego Bay) will thrill your kids. When in Montego Bay, make a side trip to see YS Falls in Saint Elizabeth Parish, approximately Saint Elizabeth Parish away. Next up on the itinerary: glide through the air with a parasailing or paragliding tour, take in the waterfront activity at Montego Bay Yacht Club, admire the landmark architecture of Rose Hall Great House, and play a few rounds at Half Moon Golf Club.
