In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.

Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Koko Crater Railway Trail and Ala Moana Beach Park. USS Arizona Memorial and Queen Emma Summer Palace are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Next up on the itinerary: kick back and relax at Waikiki Beach, contemplate the waterfront views at Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, take some stellar pictures from Puu Ualakaa State Park, and contemplate the long history of Iolani Palace.

Boston to Honolulu is an approximately 11-hour flight. Traveling from Boston to Honolulu, you'll gain 5 hours due to the time zone difference. In March, Honolulu is much hotter than Boston - with highs of 81°F and lows of 68°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 4th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Hauula.

Hauula is a census-designated place and rural community in the Koolauloa District on the island of Oahu, City & County of Honolulu. Kick off your visit on the 4th (Sun): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Laie Hawaii Temple. On the 5th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: admire the natural beauty at Senator Fong's Plantation and Gardens, head off the coast to Mokoli’i Island, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Kualoa Regional Park.

Getting from Honolulu to Hauula by car takes about an hour. In April, Hauula is little chillier than Honolulu - with highs of 78°F and lows of 65°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Wed) early enough to drive to Haleiwa.

Haleiwa is a North Shore community and census-designated place (CDP) in the Waialua District of the island of Oahu, City and County of Honolulu. Relax by the water at Sunset Beach Park and Mokuleia Beach Park. Step off the beaten path and head to Waimea Bay and Ka'ena Point State Park. Take a break from Haleiwa with a short trip to Keawaula (Yokohama Beach) in Makaha, about 32 minutes away. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Pupukea Beach Park and look for gifts at Pakaloha Bikinis - Oahu.

You can drive from Hauula to Haleiwa in an hour. In April, daily temperatures in Haleiwa can reach 78°F, while at night they dip to 65°F. On the 9th (Fri), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Honolulu.
