Kingsport to Ocracoke is an approximately 10-hour car ride. Traveling from Kingsport in October, Ocracoke is a bit warmer at night with lows of 62°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Fri) so you can ride a ferry to Hatteras Island.

Explore hidden gems such as Nags Head Woods Preserve and Salvo Beach. Bring the kids along to Godspeed Charters and Frisco Beach. On the 2nd (Wed), visit a coastal fixture at Bodie Island Lighthouse, then enjoy the sand and surf at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, and then explore the striking landscape at Jockey's Ridge State Park. Bring the kids along to Currituck Beach and Beach Jeeps of Corolla. Take a break from the city and head to Currituck Banks Reserve and Parasailing & Paragliding. Step out of Corolla with an excursion to The Pointe Golf Club in Powells Point--about 44 minutes away.
