Getting from Lipica to Maribor by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and shuttle; or take a train. Traveling from Lipica in April, Maribor is a bit cooler at night with lows of 5°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 3rd (Wed) to allow enough time to drive back home.
