Gwangju — 2 nights

Gwangju is the sixth largest city in South Korea. Start off your visit on the 5th (Thu): stroll through 5.18 Memorial Park, stroll around Peace Park, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Unjusa, and finally enjoy breathtaking views from Sajik Park & Observatory. On the next day, stroll around Gwangjuho Lake Eco Park, then admire the natural beauty at Soswaewon Garden, and then examine the collection at Gwangju National Museum.

Traveling by flight from Seoul to Gwangju takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. When traveling from Seoul in January, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Gwangju: temperatures range from 26°F by day to 25°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 6th (Fri) so you can go by car to Busan.

While traveling from Gwangju, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Busan, ranging from highs of 44°F to lows of 27°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Tue) so you can travel back home.
