Drumnadrochit — 2 nights

Drumnadrochit is a village in the Highland local government council area of Scotland, lying on the west shore of Loch Ness, at the foot of Glen Urquhart.HistoryThe settlement grew up around a bridge over the River Enrick and the name Drumnadrochit derives from the Scottish Gaelic 'druim na drochaid' meaning the 'Ridge of the Bridge'. Take a break from the city and head to Plodda Falls and General Wade’s Military Roads. Your inner history buff will appreciate Glen Strathfarrar and Corrimony Chambered Cairn. Change things up with these side-trips from Drumnadrochit: Attadale Gardens (in Strathcarron) and Dog Falls (in Tomich). Mallaig — 3 nights

Mallaig ; is a port in Lochaber, on the west coast of the Highlands of Scotland. You'll get in some beach time at Morar Beach and Camusdarach Beach. Visiting Minch Adventures and Traigh Beach will get you outdoors. When in Mallaig, make a side trip to see Samalaman Beach in Glenuig, approximately Glenuig away. There's much more to do: explore the striking landscape at Loch Morar, hike along Circular Walk, see the interesting displays at Land Sea and Islands Centre, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Maelrubha's Chapel.

Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Get some historical perspective at Saint Andrew's Church and Road to the Isles. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to West Highland Way and Inchree Waterfalls. Oban is a resort town within the Argyll and Bute council area of Scotland. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to St. Conan’s Kirk and Castle Stalker. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Carnasserie Castle and Dunadd Fort. Change things up with these side-trips from Oban: Kilmartin (Kilmartin Church and Graveyard & Kilmartin Glen).
