One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
For shopping fun, head to Myeongdong Shopping Street or Namdaemun Market. There's still lots to do: browse the exhibits of Gyeongbokgung Palace, steep yourself in history at Jongmyo Shrine, appreciate the extensive heritage of Cheonggyecheon Stream, and don't miss a visit to N Seoul Tower.

Singapore, Singapore to Seoul is an approximately 9.5-hour flight. You can also drive. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Singapore to Seoul due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Singapore in December, expect Seoul to be cooler, temps between 3°C and -5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Tue) so you can travel to Icheon.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Shop till you drop at Jagalchi Market and Gwangbokro Culture and Fashion street. And it doesn't end there: kick back and relax at Haeundae Beach, snap pictures at Busan Harbor Bridge, get outside with Gwangalli Beach, and shop like a local with Shinsegae Dept. Store Centum City.

Island of the Gods

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
For shopping fun, head to Dongmun Market or The Islander. Change things up with these side-trips from Jeju: Seogwipo (Seongsan Ilchulbong & Halla Mountain). There's much more to do: Head underground at Manjanggul Cave, enjoy the sand and surf at Hamdeok Beach, go for a walk through Handam Coastal Trail, and head outdoors with Gimnyeong Seonsegi Beach.

Getting from Busan to Jeju by flight takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, taxi, and ferry. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Wed) to allow enough time to fly back home.
