Known for its good weather, Taichung boasts an interesting set of cultural attractions, including many temples showing the development of religious architectural styles in the area and forming focal points for most tours of Taichung.

A small trading town in the 17th century, Kaohsiung now stands as a sprawling metropolis, its harbor representing the largest on the island.
Go for a jaunt from Kaohsiung to Liuqiu to see Vase Rock about 1h 5 min away. The adventure continues: explore the galleries of The Pier-2 Art Centre, head outdoors with Ai He (Love River), get a sense of history and politics at Kaohsiung Main Public Library, and get engrossed in the history at Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum.
