Harbor City

A small trading town in the 17th century, Kaohsiung now stands as a sprawling metropolis, its harbor representing the largest on the island.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Tue): head off the coast to Cijin Island, explore the activities along Lianchi (Lotus) Lake, and then admire the landmark architecture of Chihkan Tower (Fort Provintia). Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 26th (Wed): get outside with Ai He (Love River), then take in the awesome beauty at Caishan Natural Park, and then take an in-depth tour of Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum.

Nestled between the sea and the mountains, Hualien boasts a number of attractions, both natural and manmade.
Step out of the city life by going to Island Life Taiwan Adventures & Experiences and Liyu Lake. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Gangtiangong and Cihuitang. Get out of town with these interesting Hualien City side-trips: Ji'an (Hualian Jian Shrine & Shen'an Temple). Xiulin — 2 nights

Xiulin Township or Sioulin Township is a mountain indigenous township of Hualien County, Taiwan. Start off your visit on the 1st (Tue): pause for some serene contemplation at Xiangde Temple, then trek along Taroko Gorge, and then hike along Baiyang Trail. On the next day, head outdoors with Shakadang Trail, then pause for some photo ops at Eternal Spring Shrine, then stroll through Ch'ing-shui Cliff, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Tzu Chi Foundation.
