Founded in 1877 as a mining camp, Tombstone became one of the most storied towns of the "Wild West." As one of the last frontier boomtowns in the United States, Tombstone prospered between 1880 and 1890, attracting cattle rustlers and outlaws.
Kick off your visit on the 5th (Sun): see the interesting displays at Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park, then explore the different monuments and memorials at Boothilll Graveyard, and then delve into the mystery of Bird Cage Theatre. Keep things going the next day: take an in-depth tour of O.K. Corral, look for gifts at Arlene's S.W. Silver & Gold, then wander the wide-open spaces of Double R Ranch, and finally examine the collection at White Raven Trading Co..
