New York City, USA to Hallstatt is an approximately 15-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Central European Standard Time (CET), which is usually a 6 hour difference. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Bad Ischl.
