In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Duomo di Milano and Il Cenacolo are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Head to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and La Libreria Militarefor some retail therapy. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Milan: Sentiero del Viandante (in Varenna), Langhe landscapes (in Alba) and Orrido di Bellano (in Bellano).
