You can fly from Minneapolis to Ely in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi. In July, Ely is little chillier than Minneapolis - with highs of 28°C and lows of 13°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Duluth.

Bring the kids along to Minnesota's North Shore Scenic Drive and Gooseberry Falls State Park. Explore Duluth's surroundings by going to Two Harbors (Split Rock Lighthouse & Superior Hiking Trail). The adventure continues: snap pictures at Aerial Lift Bridge, stroll around Canal Park, tour the pleasant surroundings at Enger Park, and see the interesting displays at Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center.

Traveling by car from Ely to Duluth takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and bus. Traveling from Ely in July, Duluth is somewhat warmer at night with lows of 17°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 30th (Sun) early enough to catch the flight to Rochester.

On the 31st (Mon), identify plant and animal life at National Eagle Center, explore and take pictures at Garvin Heights City Park, and then examine the collection at Winona National Bank.
