Mumbai, India to Cusco is an approximately 29.5-hour flight. You'll gain 10.5 hours traveling from Mumbai to Cusco due to the time zone difference. In May, Cusco is much colder than Mumbai - with highs of 24°C and lows of 4°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 10th (Wed) early enough to catch the flight to Arequipa.

City of the Lake

Hugging the western tip of Lake Titicaca, Puno serves as a melting pot of indigenous and imported cultures, and makes a great base for explorations around the region.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Sun): race across the water with a speed boat tour. On the 15th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Umayo, explore the different monuments and memorials at Sillustani, and then stroll around Parque Huajsapata.

You can drive from Arequipa to Puno in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Arequipa in May, Puno is little chillier at night with lows of -1°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Mon) so you can catch the flight to Machu Picchu.
