The provincial city in the county of the same name, Chiayi sits as the gateway to the national scenic mountain area of Alishan.

Drive from Chiayi to Tainan in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a train. You will have some time to spend on the 3rd (Thu) before leaving for Kaohsiung.
